Process

Step 1: Consultation

The first step for all projects is an on-site consultation. We will meet at your site to discuss your vision, opportunities and constraints, and a basic water harvesting analysis. This meeting also provides us with the opportunity to review the site so that we can provide an accurate fee for the design.

Step 2: Site Measurements

For a Landscape Master Plan the next step is to prepare a digital base drawing that will be used as the basis for the design. To complete this step we collect data from online sources and complete detailed measurements on-site. All of this information is compiled into a CAD drawing of your yard.

Step 3: Concept Development

Once base information has been collected the fun part can start! At this stage we will begin to create rough concepts for your project. We will develop one or more concepts to explore a direction for the design. The goal of this process is to agree on a design direction before adding more detail.

Step 4: final master plan

Once the concept is approved we move forward with the final Landscape Master Plan. This drawing is provided as a black & white CAD plan in digital pdf format. This plan includes details for materials, plants, and design elements to allow contractors to review for competitive bids.

Next Step: Construction

Once you have received the final Landscape Master Plan you will want to seek out bids from licensed contractors. When appropriate we will provide recommendations for installers we have worked with previously. Although Eighty-Eight Acres does not provide installation services we can still assist you with the construction process. We can provide Construction Observation services such as: reviewing bids, answering contractor questions, reviewing work in the field, plant selection, and plant placement.
